LAS PALMAS BY NIGHT

The south of Gran Canaria is one of the gay Meccas in Europe while I’m gay, Canarian, 40 years old as well as having a lot of experience in public relations. I’ve also been a tourist guide, translator, co-ordinator in the Expo of Seville in 92, and air steward (LTU, Hamburg 1998-2000). As you have already ¨Yumbo¨ at your disposal every night of the week during your stay and it’s a real shame to have come that far and miss the most interesting part of the island, I started a regular night visit to Las Palmas on Fridayss. It’s where and how the local queers have fun!

I speak perfect German, English and Spanish so you’ll be well taken care of and pampered. You can discover the colonial origins of the city walking around the old town, the residential and commercial zones, the port (financial engine of the city), and the crown jewel; the almost 4km beach of las Canteras!

You’ll also be able to discover its night life and gay scene (cruising areas, bars, saunas, terraces and discos), where without a doubt you’ll shine as the star as you’ll be the tallest and blondest, coolest and of course, most beautiful!!!



So you’ll really experience a different scene as well as seeing many more guys just in this one night. Finally the Canarians…!!! Simply by being there on Fridays nights in the best places to be seen, you’ll add to the city’s gay scene as well as being an attraction to the local queens!

Why Las Palmas??? Because it has the biggest and most cosmopolitan population on the island, with almost 400.000 hot Latinos in the city. Half of them men…!!!
Why at night? So you can enjoy your day in the sun and at the beach during the day…
Why on Fridays??? Because it’s the favourite night with the locals and because the places aren’t packed, because the guys who go out know how to have fun. Then you can enjoy your Saturday nights in ¨Yumbo¨, when some of the local Canarian guys head down south. But now you won’t have to wait until a few come to you.

Details of the visit

-Pick up in front of the central door of Yumbo at 16:30.
-Transfer to Las Palmas from 16:30 to 17:15.
-2 hour visit on foot to the old part; cathedral, city clerk building, squares that smell of history, small cobbled streets, chapels and museums that transport us to the colonial world of the Hispanics during the 16th and 17th century, with a pause at the square of the Frogs (plaza de las Ranas) frequented by the local gays to have a small bite and a drink. From 17:15 to 19:15.
-Visit by bus to the best places in the rest of the city; wharf, beach, commercial zone (Mesa y Lopez avenue), residential zone (city of gardens), cruising zone (small palmed streets at Doramas Park), etc… From 19:15 to 21:00 approx.

-Tour of the bars, terraces, pubs and discos of the gay scene; ¨Gran Terrace Lolita Pluma¨ (snacks and first drinks at Santa Catalina Park), 100% gay and open air from 21:00 to 23:00, disco-pub ¨Miau Diva¨ (cabaret show), 100% gay from 23:00 to 01:00, ¨MOMA Club¨ (design place, dance music techno-house, chill out zone) mixed scene, nice crowd from 01:00 to 03:00. -Transfer to the south from 03:00 to 03:45..

If someone decides not to return with the group and stay around Las Palmas, if possible because of the dark handsome guys that are roaming around all over the place, then we will know that we have completely achieved our goal, and for those who didn’t have such luck, they’ll still have about 2 more hours of fun at ¨Yumbo¨ until the last bars and clubs close.
